At a glance: Lark Weather does not require an account. Your saved cities and settings are stored locally. Online features send the information needed to independent weather, map and content providers. The app does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.
01. Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the Lark Weather Android application (com.lark.weather) and this informational website at home.cool-weather.top. “We” and “us” mean the developer of Lark Weather.
For privacy questions or requests, contact amir5387726@gmail.com. The website’s domain retains the earlier Cool Weather name; this policy covers Lark Weather.
02. Information the app uses
- City and weather information. Selected cities and coordinates are used to retrieve forecasts, air quality and other local conditions. City search sends your search text and chosen language to the search provider.
- Local preferences and caches. The app saves cities, coordinates, the selected city, language, units, reminder preferences, weather responses, news responses and image caches on your device to remember your choices and display previously loaded content.
- Network request information. When the app connects to an external service, that service receives your IP address and request information, such as the requested URL, coordinates or city query and user-agent information. The developer does not operate an account or personal-profile backend for the current app.
- Feedback you choose to send. Feedback drafts remain on your device until you explicitly share them. The sharing flow can include your draft, app version and Android version. If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to provide.
We do not sell personal information. The app does not use advertising identifiers or include advertising, behavioral analytics or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone or photo library.
03. Location and device permissions
The app requests approximate location when you choose the location feature. You may decline and search for a city instead. The app does not request precise-location or background-location permission and does not continuously track your movements in the background.
Coordinates obtained through this feature are stored as a selected location and sent to weather services to load local conditions. Android’s geocoding service may process coordinates to return a city name. A previously saved location can still be used for forecasts after you revoke the device permission; clear the app’s storage to remove saved coordinates completely.
Internet access is used for forecasts, maps, news and linked content. Optional spoken weather uses your device’s text-to-speech engine, not microphone recording. Processing by that engine depends on its provider and your system settings. Home-screen widgets use the app’s saved weather data.
04. Services that receive requests
The following providers support the app’s online features. They may process technical connection information, including your IP address. Their own privacy policies govern their independent processing and retention.
Weather, air quality and city search
Open-Meteo receives selected coordinates for forecasts and air quality, or city search text and language for search. Air-quality and pollen data include CAMS model data. CAMS data is accessed through Open-Meteo.
Maps, rainfall radar and earthquakes
OpenFreeMap provides map styles and tiles based on OpenMapTiles and OpenStreetMap data, rendered with MapLibre. Tile requests reveal the viewed map area. RainViewer provides radar metadata and tiles. USGS provides earthquake feeds. Map tiles and radar requests may indicate your selected location or map viewport; loading the general earthquake feed does not require sending your device coordinates.
Local news and images
Microsoft Bing News, with Google News as a fallback, receives queries based on the selected city, language and news category. Loading thumbnails or article previews may contact publishers and image hosts automatically. Opening an article connects to the linked publisher.
Airport pages and external content
If you open airport information, the app may load FlightAware or NOAA AviationWeather pages for a nearby airport. External pages displayed in an in-app browser or your browser may use cookies, web storage, scripts and their own analytics according to their policies.
Android services, sharing and email
Your device’s geocoder and text-to-speech provider may process location or spoken weather text. If you share content, the receiving application processes what you send. Emails to our Gmail contact address are handled by Google’s email service.
We do not control these providers’ data handling. Please review their policies when you use their services. The app shares information for the requested feature, rather than uploading your saved preferences or feedback drafts to a developer-operated server.
05. Retention and deletion
On your device: preferences and saved city data remain until you change them or clear app storage. Weather responses are replaced when refreshed; cached weather is only eligible for offline display for up to 48 hours. This display limit does not mean every underlying cache entry is automatically deleted at 48 hours. News and image caches may remain until replaced, removed during cache maintenance or cleared by you.
To remove all locally stored app data, open Android Settings → Apps → Lark Weather → Storage → Clear data / Clear storage, or uninstall the app. The wording varies by device. Clearing the cache alone may leave preferences and feedback drafts. You can also clear a feedback draft from the app’s feedback screen. Android application backup is disabled for this app.
Communications: if you contact us, we retain the correspondence only as needed to respond, resolve the issue and meet applicable legal obligations. You can request deletion at amir5387726@gmail.com. If information must be retained for a legal obligation or dispute, we will explain any applicable limitation.
External services: third-party request logs, copies you shared with another app and website data follow the relevant provider’s retention rules. Clearing Lark Weather’s storage does not delete those independent records. There is no Lark Weather user account to delete.
06. Your choices and privacy rights
- Use manual city search instead of device location, or revoke location permission in Android Settings at any time.
- Change saved cities, units and language in the app; clear storage to remove all saved local information.
- Choose whether to open external content, use spoken weather or send a feedback message.
- Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of information you have sent directly to us, or to ask about an objection, restriction or other privacy right available under the law where you live.
We may ask for the minimum information needed to verify and process a request. We cannot retrieve or erase data that exists only on your device remotely. Where applicable, you may also raise a concern with your local data-protection authority.
07. Security and international processing
The app uses HTTPS for its configured weather, map and news service connections. Local data is stored within Android’s app storage protections. These measures reduce risk, but no storage system or transmission method is completely secure.
Online providers and email services may process information in countries other than your own, under their service terms and applicable laws. Please avoid sending passwords, identity documents or other sensitive information in feedback. Location access is controlled by your Android permission choice; other processing described here supports the features you use, responding to your requests and applicable legal obligations.
08. Children’s privacy
Lark Weather is a general-audience weather app and is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate. Third-party content and services have their own age and privacy terms.
09. This website
These informational pages do not include advertising, analytics scripts, contact forms or application-set cookies or local storage. Images and styles are included in the pages themselves.
The website’s hosting infrastructure may process IP addresses, request times, requested pages and browser information to deliver the pages, maintain security and diagnose errors. Infrastructure logs follow the hosting provider’s retention settings and policies. Email links open your chosen mail application; information is sent only if you send the email. External links are subject to the destination’s own practices.
10. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the policy was most recently revised.
If a change requires additional notice or your consent under applicable law, we will notify you or request your consent as required.
